ctrlDNS was born from practice. Corné Flikweert and Kees Verspoor, owners of Internet and marketing agency Vollan, developed the tool from their experience with the daily challenges of DNS management. During their work creating websites and online solutions, they kept running into the same problems.
Emerged from practice
Where frustration began
For DNS changes, they had to turn to the IT party that handled domain management. Making a simple change like adding a record, could take up to two days. Two days!
Meanwhile, valuable time was wasted, errors occurred, and ownership was often in dispute. Domain owners could not share management of a specific domain name without giving full access to the entire domain portfolio. All this caused frustration, delays and lack of control time and again.
No solution? Then we'll build one ourselves
So Kees and Corné started looking for ways that would enable managing, sharing and scheduling DNS records. However, they didn't find what they needed. Since no smart solution existed, they decided to develop one themselves.
What began as an internal tool to make their work easier grew into ctrlDNS: software that allows stakeholders to securely and efficiently manage DNS records. The tool allows them to share access, avoid errors and work independently without losing control.
From frustration to ctrlDNS
ctrlDNS is now available to anyone struggling with the same challenges. A solution born out of frustration, built to make DNS management simple and accessible to all. No more frustration, but convenience, speed and control.
